About the course: Our UKFT accredited Advanced Certificate Programme teaches the art of invisible mending on cashmere and knitwear to a fully professional standard. Developed by Cashmere Circle's expert team in Scotland, this is a comprehensive 8-module online programme that takes you from a solid foundation in repair techniques all the way through to tackling complex, high-value garments with confidence. Once purchased, the programme is yours to revisit as often as you like — a permanent professional reference library at your fingertips.
Who it's for? This programme is designed for individuals with existing sewing or knitting experience who are ready to take their skills to a professional level. It's ideal if you're looking to build a career in luxury garment repair, work as a freelance mender from home, or gain an industry-recognised qualification in cashmere restoration. Open to UK residents only.
How long does it take? The programme is self-paced across 8 modules, with lifetime access and no fixed deadlines. We recommend working through the modules in order, as each one builds on the last, and we encourage students to practise regularly with the aim of completing the programme within 4 to 6 months of enrolling.
What you will learn: By the end of the programme you'll be fully trained in the art of invisible repair for knitted cashmere garments to a professional industry standard. You will understand a wide range of knit structures, master duplicate stitch on everything from plain to textured and patterned knits, know how to source and harvest yarn from the garment itself, and be equipped to assess and repair garments of varying complexity and value. Graduates are qualified to work in cashmere mending and repair - including directly with Cashmere Circle, who actively recruit programme graduates.

Once you have purchased the course you can review the modules over and over again at your own pace.
Should you accept employment with Cashmere Circle and work with the business for at least 6 months you will qualify for a full fee refund. The minimum volume of work we expect from each mender is 60 garments before qualifying for a training fee refund. This course fee at that point will be fully refunded to you. T&Cs apply. Next Steps & Employment Opportunities
Cashmere Circle is actively recruiting new menders to work on cashmere repairs. Our teams work on a freelance basis, candidates can work from home, from anywhere in the UK and we supply our menders with cashmere repair jobs at least once per month (at least 10 garments per month).
Our peak periods are March through May and August to October but we have consistent mending work throughout the year.

Invisible Mending
Invisible mending is a fabric repair technique that re-weaves yarn into the fabric of a garment or item of upholstery to seamlessly patch a hole. The yarn is often discretely taken from other parts of the garment to allow for a perfect colour match.

Don’t let moths ruin your wardrobe, by protecting your garments. Moth season kicks off in May and lasts all summer through to October and you’ll find them in dark, undisturbed places.
